It's a boy!

Well, I have waited a long time to put a post like this one! We found out last week that we are having a boy!! For those of you who don't know, we have been hoping and praying for another child for a long time. . . 4 years to be exact. About 2 1/2 years ago, we were told by a specialist that we had a less than 10% chance of having another baby. Brad and I both felt that we wanted more children and felt this was God leading us to adopt. We started that long process in April of 2005, and we were officially approved in Jan 2006. As we started on that journey, we had a lot of prayers holding us up. I am NOT a patient person - so this really taught me a lot. I learned that we might not always get what we want - BUT God will sustain you and give you joy in different ways than you ever imagined! Well, this October I had one of those tough weeks of being tired of waiting - had a little pity party, (one of many) and moved on. That very week I realized that was really late! After 3 days of worry we finally confirmed by sonogram that we were indeed having a baby and everything was exactly where it was supposed to be! WOW is all I can say. I am still pinching myself everyday. My growing belly is a confirmation that this is really happening. Thank you to all my dear friends and family whose shoulders I have cried on and whose prayers have lifted me!!!! I hope to have plenty more posts in the months to come of Griffin Barrett Brashier - coming in June!!!!!

Christmas in Jackson

After Batesville, we loaded up and headed to JJ and Pops in Jackson. We had a great time and even went to the Museum of Natural Science. The kids loved it!
More Christmas pics. . . After a wonderful lunch at my grandmothers on Christmas Day (which I have only missed once in my entire life!!!) we headed back to Batesville. The day after Christmas we had a wonderful brunch (my mama cooks it all and won't let anyone help - very stubborn). After brunch we all open presents and play, play, play! Please notice how much fun Elisabeth and Rebekah are having with the toys!

Christmas Fun!

Christmas Eve at home. . . we attend our church's Christmas Eve service, open a few gifts, watch last year's Christmas on video, and play some games. Christmas morning. . . Is it time to see what we got??? We are ready!!! Collins is taking a break from opening presents. Marsh and Cousin Elliott Aunt Lis (recently engaged!!) and Mary Blake. Notice that we finally pulled the tooth!

Cookies for Santa

Today we decorated cookies for Christmas/Santa. I actually suggested that they not put so much icing, sprinkles, etc. on the cookies. Mary Blake quickly responed, "Oh no Mama, you can never have too much on a cookie!" My children may never fall asleep tonight! SUGAR HIGH!

Loose tooth

Mary Blake has a front tooth loose. As of now, it is hanging in there . . . barely! She wants it to be pulled but flips out every time Brad makes an attempt. As you can see, it is SO loose! This is the before and hopefully by tomorrow, we will have an after!

Funny pj pics

Here are some of my attempts at a Christmas card pic. Thought I would give a quick update on what has been going on in the Brashier household. I have finally wrapped up all of my Christmas painting orders. Woo hoo! Of course I have a new project! Putting a fresh coat of paint on our guest room and getting it ready to be a NURSERY! We are having a baby! Mary Blake and Collins are very excited. It has been sad to put our adoption papers on hold, but I am thrilled/thankful to have the opportunity to carry another baby!! Such a miracle. . will keep you posted!

Reformation Party

Friday night, we loaded up and went to church for lots of fun and games! I even reached a HUGE milestone. . . I sat and ate my cake (2 pieces!) while the kids played and had a blast! We LOVE superheroes at our house. This decision to be Batgirl and Robin came after many days of deliberation and drama!! This is the "superhero pose"
