Mary Blake and Collins both have pieces of their art hanging at the Gum Tree Museum of Art. Tonight we got to go to a little reception for all for all of the artists.  Can't wait to hang these in our house!

Fun with Evelyn

Evelyn was a superstar before she ever got here. . . she has more than lived up to her superstar status!!! She is so sweet (obviously cute) and very spunky. She and Griffin had fun babbling back and forth. No language barriers there!

Three blind mice. . .

I can't say I have ever given this song much thought. . . until this week. "see how they run" has happened not once, twice, but THREE times across my kitchen floor. One mouse had the nerve to pause, say good morning and run under my fridge. Mary Blake and I had sore throats from screaming at the mouse. I ended up cleaning out, disinfecting, and bug spraying under my kitchen sink. I put the empty clean plastic garbage can back under my sink. Later that night I heard noises under my sink (you are getting the heebie geebies now, aren't you?). I pretty much freaked out, broke out into a sweat, and got Brad to come look. He found a mouse in the empty garbage can trying to get out. He told me it was cute - I don't care to EVER meet a mouse in my house!!!! I refused to look. So, I went to bed thinking our rodent problem was over.

The next morning, I found another one in my empty garbage can. I have now thrown the garbage can away -got Terminex to lay traps. THIS morning there was ANOTHER one in the trap.

Collins is now in charge of checking the traps. I refuse. He wants to keep one as a pet. oh brother .... I am hoping that 3 is all we will have - please.

Birmingham 2011

Last year we took an overnight trip to Birmingham. We didn't realize what an impact it had on the kids. . . they have been begging to go back. Everything had to be exactly the same - the hotel, the restaurants, trip to Target, same park, etc. . .

So, we decided to do it again. I love watching memories being made!

At the car wash...

Mary Blake got this idea that she wanted to do something to raise money. Lemonade stand was her first idea, then she moved on to a car wash. It didn't take much convincing to get the Sander's girls on board. They worked really hard coloring flyers and delivering them to the neighbors. The best part about the idea is that she decided to raise money for the Salvation Army. I'm really proud of them for working so hard!!! They raised $100

Wren at 13 weeks

Really?

How could this happen? Well in my world, things like this happen ALOT. Here's the story: for valentines day happies, I decided to make homemade peppermint patties. YUM. I have a cheapo wal-mart mixer that functions at two speeds: fast and faster. As I was using all of my might to keep the mixer in the bowl while mixing the stiff filling, the mixer literally attacked me. I had to unplug the mixer and eject the beaters to get it unwound. I only had griffin and wren at home and they didn't care to laugh with me, so I took a pic to prove it.

The next weekend, I shared my story with Brad's cousin Tressa.  I closed my story with - "I really need a kitchen aid mixer. . . ." Would you believe that crazy gal sent me a KITCHEN AID MIXER!!!! I wanna be just like her when I grow up. . .
