Vacation Bible School

We had a fun-filled week at VBS. Mary Blake and Collins learned so much! They were worn out at the end of the week!  

5 year old shots

I finally got up the courage to take Collins to get his 5 year old shots. It is just not fun watching your baby in pain. When I told him what we were doing that day, I asked him if he would like a stuffed animal to squeeze when he got his shots. That made such a difference! It didn't take away the fact that the shots hurt, but it did make it better! After his shots, we went to the Splash Pad (along with about 100 other people) and then got snow cones. The shots were all but forgotten!

Mary Blake's field day and award's day

Mary Blake also had a field day this past Monday. They had a great time playing all day on the football field. The highlight was getting to bring your favorite toys in your backpack to play with! Wednesday was Mary Blake's award day. She got a certificate for having all A's and a medal for being the highest academic acheiver (not sure what that means!) in Ms.Loyd's class. We are SO proud of our little first grader. She is a very hard worker!

Collins' field day and program

Collins' end of the school year party ended up inside b/c of all of the rain. Shannon Cleveland came through in a pinch and we had a great time at the furniture market! He also had a program that he was quite serious about! Enjoy the pics.

Coloring Contest

Mary Blake won 1st place in a recent coloring contest for Lee County. She was quite proud of getting to ride in Offficer "Bugs" car to eat CiCi's pizza along with the other winners!

T- Ball

We have now had our first t-ball practice and game. I can sum it all up by saying the game is a great source of laughter for this pregnant lady!

Easter 2009

The Brashier Family came this weekend and we had a great visit and an interesting Easter meal... Most of you know that I am not a very detail oriented person - especially when it comes to recipes. Usually it works out well for me - not this time! When it came time to pull out the pork for lunch, it was RAW. I somehow left out the whole three middle sentences of the instructions. Those sentences included baking for an additional 50-55min. Needless to say, I sent Brad to the gas station and he came back with a barbecued chicken leg, 2 slabs of ribs, and chicken fingers. I am glad I am at the point in my pregnancy where everything is funny - otherwise, I think I might have cried! The ribs and chicken were yummy and everybody was full and happy. Oh yeah, around 2:30 - when everyone was leaving - the pork loin was finally ready!!

Jumping Bailey

The kids found out that when blowing bubbles Bailey will jump to catch them! It was quite funny to watch - she even flipped in the air trying to catch bubbles! By the time I figured out we should film it, (you know so we could enter it in to America's Funniest Home Videos! j/k) she was too tired to jump anymore!!

Easter Eggs!

Friday we dyed Easter Eggs - this was probably the easiest year yet - they got everything ready and were pretty self-sufficient! This is Mary Blake saying, "You should try these boiled eggs - they are really good." He's thinking about it. . . . Yep, he tried it - didn't like it!

The Memphis Zoo

Last Wednesday, we traveled to the Memphis grade with Mary Blake's first grade class. The weather was great and the kids were sweet!
