SNOW!!

This Sunday we woke up to all white!! We even had time to run down to the Sanders and grab a quick sled ride! Later, we enjoyed a big bowl of snow cream (aka snow and sweetened condensed milk).

Kitchen Shower

Lots of fun stuff getting ready for Elisabeth and Jay's wedding. (which is next weekend!!) This are pics from the kitchen shower at Rebekah's house.

Tool Shower/Bird Hunt

2 weeks ago, we had a tool shower for Elisabeth's fiance Jay. . . The day turned out SO cold, but it was a really fun day. The kids, of course, had too much fun. The rest of us enjoyed the fish fry and party. We were all exhausted at the end of the day, but it was well worth it.

Wrong side of the bed. . .

Yesterday morning, Mary Blake woke up so grumpy. I said, "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!" To which she replied, "No I didn't, I woke up in the middle of my bed where I always sleep!" :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY BLAKE AND COLLINS!!

This Sunday (feb 1) was Mary Blake's 7th birthday!!! This Tuesday (feb 3) was Collins' 5th birthday! Thankfully, this year we planned our big family party this Saturday (feb 7) because we got off to a rough start this birthday week. . . Poor Mary Blake spent 2 hours at Med Serve on her actual birthday - she has the flu!! Despite feeling pretty crummy with high temp, we have tried to make the best of it. She wanted a puppy dog birthday theme this year, (leave it to her to pick a random theme!)so I have rented every dog movie I think of for her to watch while she is recovering! So far, we have watched Air Buddies, Shaggy Dog (old Disney movie), and started on the 1st of 5 Beethoven movies!! Yesterday, she perked up enough for us to have a mini-party for her and Collins. Brad picked up pizza and and ice cream cake. SO much fun - I love how the little things make them happy!! Collins is enjoying being 5 like Garrison and Mont - he is on cloud nine. Had to post-pone his school party until Friday, but he has been exceptionally understanding since MB has been sick! I will post fun party pics after the family party Sat!!! Oh yeah - Collins has had trouble deciding what birthday theme he wanted. He has comtemplated this matter for a YEAR now - and I am not exaggerating!! Last night he announced rather proudly that he had decided on Star Wars. Great - I had just ordered a Transformers cake that afternoon - sheesh

It's a boy!

Well, I have waited a long time to put a post like this one! We found out last week that we are having a boy!! For those of you who don't know, we have been hoping and praying for another child for a long time. . . 4 years to be exact. About 2 1/2 years ago, we were told by a specialist that we had a less than 10% chance of having another baby. Brad and I both felt that we wanted more children and felt this was God leading us to adopt. We started that long process in April of 2005, and we were officially approved in Jan 2006. As we started on that journey, we had a lot of prayers holding us up. I am NOT a patient person - so this really taught me a lot. I learned that we might not always get what we want - BUT God will sustain you and give you joy in different ways than you ever imagined! Well, this October I had one of those tough weeks of being tired of waiting - had a little pity party, (one of many) and moved on. That very week I realized that was really late! After 3 days of worry we finally confirmed by sonogram that we were indeed having a baby and everything was exactly where it was supposed to be! WOW is all I can say. I am still pinching myself everyday. My growing belly is a confirmation that this is really happening. Thank you to all my dear friends and family whose shoulders I have cried on and whose prayers have lifted me!!!! I hope to have plenty more posts in the months to come of Griffin Barrett Brashier - coming in June!!!!!
