Washing Clothes

I decided it was time for Mary Blake and Collins to learn how to wash their own clothes. So, I gave them a washing machine and dryer lesson. I figured teaching them how to sort clothes will come later. First things first - clothes in wash, detergent, turn on, then wait.... For years I have struggled with laundry - never found it to be any source of entertainment. They viewed laundry in a whole different light. MB decided dog-dog needed washing, then Collins decided his stuffed animals need a bath too. They hung over the open wash giggling and watching for their animals heads to poke out. It keep them occupied for a good hour. Pretty soon all of their animals had gone through the wash! ***thank you to Rebekah for reminding me after my last post that when I am fifty I will still have a 15 and 16 year old at home with plenty of laundry to do!****
Mary Blake perched Dog-Dog here to enjoy the snow after his "bath"
My super creative, over-acheiver daughter also drew out directions and hung them over the washer and dryer.

Happy 6 weeks Wren!

I have learned a lot in the last six weeks. . . .
1. I don't have it all together (just in case I had you fooled)
2. There are more important things in life than showers and sleep
3. Laughter is truly the best medicine
4. Mary Blake is truly a god send. . . she has been such a blessing with keeping the whole crew entertained
5. I couldn't do this without brad - he has certainly stepped it up and kept this house running
6. A cup a coffee in the a.m. and a big bowl of ice cream in the p.m. can do wonders
7. I'm thankful for snow days - and thankful for the snow days (hopefully) being over
8. My children are each so wonderfully different from each other - it is amazing to watch their little personalities develop - they are full of spunk and life
9. Most importantly, I am thankful for God's grace and mercy and love. . . all of which have carried me these last six weeks of getting adjusted to 4 children. . .and all of which will carry me everyday. That alone keeps me smiling through it all Ramblings, i know, but when i'm fifty, I'll probably long for these days of endless laundry, cooking, cleaning. AND if I ever get around to printing this blog out, I will have this post as a reminder of God's blessings!

Snow AGAIN!!

Who would have thought we would have 2 snows this winter in Tupelo, MS!?? We have made the most of it. . . the kids were out at 7:30 this morning playing in it. They took a small break for breakfast, then headed back out. It was a neighorhood affair - we are so blessed to have such precious neighbors! The Thompsons brought their 4-wheeler over and pulled trailer sled all day long! Sweet Mrs. Counce and Mrs. Dendy came in and watched Griffin and Wren so that I could come out and play too. The best part was watching Misty in the sled. She was too funny. . .

Christmas 2010

SNOW!
Griffin in his cold weather gear. He wasn't so sure about the snow.
Sweet Wren, 3 weeks old
Pops and Andy helping Collins build his Buzz Lightyear lego spaceship.
Griffin checking out his new tent. Can't believe I actually finished it (at 11 pm Christmas eve). It is actually 8-10 inches shorter than it is supposed to be. But we won't talk about that. . .
This was their response to the question - who wants to see if Santa came? They all yelled MEEEE! (even griff - he copies everything they do)
Looking out the window at the snow. Love the diaper look. Griffin sports this style a lot. . . Once I wrestle him to change his diaper, I have to take a break before I tackle clothes
Sweet friends. Don't know what these two would do without each other. They might fuss sometimes, but they really love each other and play together so well.

"Hot" Party/Brother Love

Griffin adores Collins. . . . if Collins is laying down, Griffin is climbing on him or sitting on him. Like a good big brother, Collins lets him do it with no complaints. The day we were out of school for "ice" Mary Blake decided to host a "hot" party. What is a hot party, you ask? It is pretty simple - you wear your "coolest" clothes and dance. That brain of hers - never stops. Anyway, they danced, and danced, and danced. Griffin even got in on the action. Brad will not like this picture - Mary Blake put this tu tu on him. He really liked the attention he got when he had it on! This is Collins' outfit he picked out to wear to the hot party Dancing it up
